COLOR vs. B&W
Anaglyphs
can be in B&W (monochromatic) or color. But, as the viewing glasses employ colored
filters, color anaglyphs have many problems. The first image below, is a color
anaglyph with predominantly green colors. When viewed with 3D glasses, there IS 3D,
but the impression is confusing. The right eye sees greens as "dark," while
the left eye sees greens as "light." Not acceptable in our opinion.

The
following image is a B&W version. When viewed with 3D glasses, there is an
excellent 3D effect, and the background detail is clear. Obviously a better
3D image.

The choice is yours. If the colors in the shot can be controlled, color anaglyphs can be quite acceptable, such as the image below. Note the lack of large areas of primary colors (bright red, green or blue). Without 3D glasses, the color of the picture is normal. With 3D glasses, the 3D effect is quite dramatic and natural. Truly the best of both worlds.
