| Here are some pictures
of Andre de Toth in action, from Dan Symmes' collection.

February 1953, Andre shows HOUSE OF WAX star Phyllis Kirk
the viewfinder of the huge 3D camera.

Perhaps one of the finest behind the scenes shots from
HOUSE OF WAX. L to R background,
Pev Marley (DP), Lothrop Worth (operator behind the big 3D camera),
Andre de Toth (director), Padre Wax (effigy), Vincent price, and up
to Phyllis Kirk and Carolyn Jones.

Gag shot of stars Frank Lovejoy,
Phyllis Kirk and Vincent Price with an out of character Andre. Andre
didn't wear his eyepatch during the filming of WAX as Jack Warner
felt it was bad image for a "3D" director.

July 1953 shooting Andre's 3rd 3D, THE BOUNTY HUNTER.
Andre loved cowboys - seeing them as true men - and enjoyed Westerns.
Here he's using a camera viewfinder (wearling sunglasses, the 3D camera
behind him) to line up a shot of Marie Windsor with Randolph Scott
looking on.
