THE NEW MKIII

We're back from Texas where we shot a week of exciting sequences at the AMC (Army Materials Command). Located adjacent to Padre Island in Corpus Christi, the AMC is where all military helicopters are rebuilt and/or retrofitted. Huey, Chinook, Apache, Cobra, and of course the Blackhawk.

This is our second project for High Definition Audio, and the first use of our MKIII base unit.

With a breakneck schedule, there wasn't time to get decent photos, but below is one from an amatuer video camera (our apologies).

To illustrate the remarkable SMALLNESS of this unit, we do have photos showing that the entire system fits into two basic cases, and a third "support" case, all of which fit into the trunk of a car with room to spare.

We are not aware of ANY professional dual camera beamsplitter system that's as portable, easy to setup (typically 5 minutes from case to white balance!), and light (less than 36 lb!!).

We have two other productions pending during which we hope to get some good photos of the MKIII in action. Stay tuned.

In the meantime, we have put up some frame captures from this shoot for your 3D viewing pleasure. They have not been "adjusted" in any way (except converting them to B&W for better 3D), and illustrate how technically superior the MKIII is to other dual camera systems .

"It was great. Didn't feel like I was working with two cameras at all. Felt like one. That allowed me to concentrate on my job. I've seen nothing like it."

"The MKIII was a smaller, lighter package (than the MKI), but produced the same if not better, stereoscopic images that we have been so pleased with all along. Dan Symmes and his company are the best in the business, just ask our clients!"
